Save the Date for a Special Preview of “Ready, Set, Bag!”
We’re pleased to help promote Justine Jacob’s new award-winning film,
“Ready, Set, Bag!” It will preview on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at
the Roxie Theater in San Francisco. As part of the film’s release, the
filmmakers are partnering with local food banks to raise awareness,
food and money. You receive $1 off the ticket price if you bring in two
or more cans to the preview. Additionally, for each ticket purchased,
the Mechanics Bank will donate $1 to the food bank. You can make a
difference by attending this screening!
Ready, Set, Bag!
(which premiered at festivals as “Paper or Plastic?”) stars state
champions from across the United States working to win the National
Grocers Association’s Best Bagger competition. Using the competition as
a backdrop, the documentary delves into the lives of eight diverse
individuals and tells distinctly American stories celebrating this
country’s values.
Following the film, there will be a Q&A
with the directors and special guests from the film. There will also be
a showing of the Oscar-nominated Jim Capobianco’s new short film,
“Leonardo,” which recently played at Telluride.
