Summer Officially Underway in Pleasanton

Forget the summer solstice. Or the heat wave currently gripping the Tri Valley. Summer does not officially begin in Pleasanton until the Alameda County Fair hits the fairgrounds. This year’s fair, which includes a wide variety of rides, contests, horse racing and concerts, rolled into town on Wednesday (July 1) and continues through July 19. The concert line-up includes, among others, Red, White and Blues (July 4), Bowling for Soup (July 10), En Vogue (July 11) and Ozomatli (July 16). Concerts, scheduled at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. daily, are free with paid admission.
