One of Pleasanton’s long-established neighborhoods, Mission Park is a close-knit community on the southern edge of the city. Nestled between Sunol Boulevard and Mission Drive, this 237-home neighborhood was first developed in the mid-1960s.
According to newspaper reports, the first homes sold for $19,500 and by build-out, the 2,000-square-foot houses were selling in the mid-$30,000 – a far cry from today’s prices, which are well above $500,000. The neighborhood offers great entry-level homes for first-time buyers.
The community is close to downtown shopping and restaurants, freeway access, and backs up to the Oak Hills Shopping, which includes Raley’s as well as several restaurants and shops. The homes enjoy close access to Mission Hills Park, located at the corner of Independence and Junipero.
Neighborhood schools are Hearst Elementary, Pleasanton Middle and Foothill High. The community also includes 100 apartments and townhomes.
